Governor Ivey held a press conference today at 11 a.m. and announced that the current “Shelter at Home” order will expire on Thursday, April 30 at 5 p.m. She created a new order that is called “Safer At Home”. Here are some of the new guidelines that will go into effect on April 30:
- Beaches will re-open with social distancing guidelines in place.
- No gatherings of more than 10 people and must keep a 6 foot distance from one another (if you’re with people outside of your household).
- She emphasized that mayors of the coastal communities have committed to enforcing these guidelines.
- Retail establishments can re-open with 50% occupancy.
- Restaurants will remain take-out, delivery and curbside pick-up only.
